How to we pick the colour of our pelt? Is is delegated from what tribe or moon we're under? Can we just pick a colour?
If anyone else can think of questions you may have had when starting out, or things that really helped you as you learnt please post them for the new players.

This is an aspect of the character that I typically refer to as flavour, which only adds to the ambiance of the situation, rather then having a real mechanic towards gameplay.
That being said, flavour is what makes roleplay so important, distinct and wonderful, so I will give you ideas of how you might choose the colourization of your pelt.
First, Wolf colourizations are normal fur colours, that is not to say the colour cannot be altered with Fetishes, Tattoos or the like, but the original colouring of the fur will be natural. An example of otherworldly colours is, an Uratha named "Blue Hate" decides he wants to better represent his name by dying his hair with Fetished Dye that is blue making his fur blue in every form. Such things can exist, but he was still first changed as a "brown" wolf.
Second, Wolves fur is based on the area from which they are from typically, combined with the international stage, and how werewolves can come from anywhere in the world, it may be a good idea to look at the land itself. Does the area of the world you are from have wolves on it? They are usually a good reference. An example of this would be "Tarka" from Alaska, typically wolves from cold climates like Alaska have white bushy fur to adapt to their climate and to keep hidden from prey, where as "Donner" from Africa would have fur more earth toned for the same purpose.
At any rate, there is no approval for such fur colour unless there is something distinctly odd about it. (For example writing in ones fur, insane colours, even albinism, should be checked with us prior to playing this out)
Note: Tribes, and Auspices do not dictate in any way the colour of your fur, but may contribute to missing patches of fur due to battle, or tattooing due to some rituals.
Thank you,
Aaron
