The Werewolf name is given by tribe, or earned. What kind of examples would be for a cub earning her name? Is there a period where she would go with no name until earned or given and how long might this period be?

The werewolf name is one of pride and effort. It is given in a traditional way by your "Guide" or your Tribe after completing a quest. Typically it has something to do with your Birth as a Werewolf, or a great event that you took part in.
For example.
"During my Trials by Blood, I had to face 3 wild boars by myself with only a spear. I was not able to transform into a werewolf, and had to do this alone. The first two boars injured me fairly deeply, while the third snapped my spear, I had only the use of the head of the spear, and killed all three boars with only it. They called me Broken Spear, after that."
Another way to do it,
"As a pack we form a new bond, as such all old names are gone, and our new names belong to us. I was named "Deadeye" by my pack. In this manner, we also name you, "Dark Stalker", may you keep us safe in the night."
Or finally,
"I was found broken and beaten, barely alive, when a spirit named "Kisses the Sun" an aspect of Bear, came to me. Nursing me through the night, she named me "Wild Rose" after the plant she used to nurse me to health."
Like I said there are many ways, and each one is unique, but once you take a name, it is bound to your character as their renown is. IF you change your name after you have no renown to speak for with it, and still retain the notoriety of being known as the artist formally known as Prince. His songs were still terrible, and changing his identity gave him a new lease, but didn't forgive his previous songs.
Cheers,
Aaron

A cub goes without a Werewolf name until he or she becomes a full werewolf. This comes at 30 Experience points, and either as a Storyteller we will choose (LIttle Red Corvet), or you can suggest something a little more to your character (Dove's Cry) or (Raspberry Beret).
Cheers,
Aaron

The sad part was, you realized it was references to Prince. I paid so little attention to that singer/band/whatever that I just though Aaron had poor taste in example names.

Aaron Told us it was Prince he was referring to in the post above all the references when he talks about Captain Lame himself.

haha, and his reference in the post above it still didn't make me clue in that the bad name may have something to do with Prince... so maybe I'm the sad one.... well oblivious at least.

Nah, you just weren't tuned in to Aaron's terrible music tastes. Which, all things told, is good for you.
